Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping
Where do you ship?
How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed and shipped within 1–2 business days, Monday through Friday. Standard delivery within Canada takes 3–9 business days; U.S. orders ship via DHL Express and typically arrive within 3–5 business days. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order is on its way.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is free on Canadian orders of CAD $100 or more, in every province and territory. Below that threshold, Canadian rates start at CAD $10 (Ontario & Quebec) or CAD $15 (rest of Canada), calculated by weight. U.S. orders are a flat USD $35 — this rate covers shipping plus all U.S. duties, taxes, and brokerage fees, so there are no surprise fees at delivery (Delivered Duty Paid). Full rates are available in our Shipping Policy.
ORDERS & PAYMENT
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All transactions are processed securely through Shopify Payments.
Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
Yes — if you contact us within 2 hours of placing your order, we can usually make changes before fulfillment begins. Email us as quickly as possible at team@meeracapsule.com as soon as possible and we'll do what we can. Once an order has shipped, we're unable to modify it.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes. You'll receive a confirmation email immediately after placing your order, and a second email with tracking information once it ships.
Do you offer gift cards?
Not at this time, but it's something we're considering. In the meantime, our Capsule bundles make a beautiful gift — each one is designed as a complete ritual.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
What is your return policy?
To maintain our Product Integrity Standard, all items are final sale. We don't restock or resell items once they leave our studio — this ensures every product you receive is pristine, fresh, and handled only by our team. If your order arrives damaged or there was an error on our part, please reach out within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right. The fastest way to reach us is live chat on our Contact page, or email us at team@meeracapsule.com
Who pays for return shipping?
Because all items are final sale, we don't typically accept returns. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, we cover the full cost of resolution — including any return shipping if needed. For full details, see our Refund Policy.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Where is Meera Capsule based?
We're a Canadian brand based in Toronto and Vancouver. Our team designs and curates everything locally — our hair care is formulated and manufactured in Canada, our clips and combs are made in France and Italy, and our totes are woven and assembled in Northern France.
What does "capsule" mean in your name?
A capsule is a tightly curated collection of essentials — nothing excess, everything intentional. That philosophy runs through everything we do, from our product lines to the bundled Capsule sets we offer. We design rituals, not routines.
Do you have a physical store?
We're online only for now at meeracapsule.ca. Follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop on pop-ups and events as we grow.
WHOLESALE & PARTNERSHIPS
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes. We work with select retail partners who share our values of quality, intention, and craftsmanship. Email team@meeracapsule.com with details about your business and we'll share our line sheet.
Do you work with influencers or content creators?
We love collaborating with creators who align with our brand. If that sounds like you, reach out to team@meeracapsule.com with your handle and a bit about yourself. We'd love to hear from you.
Studio Line
What are Studio Line pieces made of?
Every Studio Line clip and comb is crafted from cellulose acetate — a plant-derived, biodegradable material made from natural cotton and wood pulp. Each piece is manufactured in France by a producer with over 100 years of heritage, and features a concealed brass-coated steel spring mechanism for a clean, seamless finish.
What is the difference between the Bambi, Luna, Phoebe, and Frame clips?
Each style has a distinct silhouette designed for different styling needs. Bambi is our signature claw clip with a chic, minimal profile — available in mini (5 cm pair), medium (8 cm), and large (10 cm). Phoebe is our smallest style, perfect for fine or short hair — available in mini (4 cm pair) and small (6 cm). Luna features a rounded silhouette for a softer hold — available in small (6 cm) and medium (9 cm). Frame has a structured, angular profile for a more architectural look — available in medium (9 cm).
How do I choose the right size?
The number in each product name is the clip's length in centimetres. As a general guide: 4–5 cm (mini) works best for fine or short hair and accent styling. 6 cm (small) suits fine to medium hair. 8–9 cm (medium) is ideal for medium-length hair. 10 cm (large) holds medium to long hair comfortably. When in doubt, size up — a slightly larger clip gives a more relaxed, effortless hold.
What colours are available?
The Studio Line is available in two core colourways — Piano Black and Deep Amber. Piano Black is a rich, high-gloss black with natural depth. Deep Amber is a warm, translucent tortoiseshell with golden undertones.
What are the Studio combs?
We offer two combs. The Pocket 10 is a 10 cm travel comb in Piano Black — compact enough for a pocket or clutch. The Studio 16 is a full-sized 16 cm comb in Sequoia acetate, housed in a sustainably sourced black leather case. Both feature a wide-tooth design that detangles without breakage and naturally resists static for a smooth finish.
How do I care for my clips and combs?
Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove product buildup. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct heat — blow dryers held close or hot car dashboards can soften acetate. Store pieces separately to prevent scratching. With care, the natural lustre of the material will only deepen over time.
Atelier Line
What makes the Atelier Line different from the Studio Line?
The Atelier Line is our premium, small-batch collection. Each clip is handmade using Italian Mazzucchelli acetate by Deliska-H — a heritage atelier in Tourrettes-sur-Loup in the south of France. The patterns are richer and more varied, the silhouettes are larger, and each piece is a sculptural object as much as a functional tool.
What is Mazzucchelli acetate?
Mazzucchelli is an Italian manufacturer renowned for producing the world's finest cellulose acetate — the same material trusted by luxury eyewear and accessory houses. It is plant-derived, biodegradable, and known for its depth of colour, natural translucency, and one-of-a-kind patterning. No two pieces are exactly alike.
What colours are the Atelier clips available in?
The Darcy 12 is available in Appaloosa (a speckled, organic pattern), Maple (a warm, layered amber), and Oyster (a soft, pearlescent neutral). The Juliet 10 is available in Maple, Oyster, and Tortoise (a classic, richly marbled pattern).
Who should choose the Darcy 12 vs. the Juliet 10?
The Darcy 12 is our largest clip at 11.5 cm — designed for thick to very long hair that needs maximum hold. The Juliet 10 is 10 cm and offers a secure hold for medium to long hair with a slightly more refined, everyday profile. If you have thick or very long hair, Darcy is your piece. For most other hair types, Juliet is the perfect balance of presence and versatility.
What is the Boar Hair Brush Kit?
A complete ritual tool for scalp stimulation and natural shine, produced by Koh-I-Noor in Milan — a family-run house with over a century of brush-making heritage. Each brush is shaped from certified biodegradable acetate and finished by hand. The kit includes a boar and nylon pin brush, a cleaning rake, and a drawstring bag. Available in Cream and Neptune.
How do I clean my Boar Hair Brush?
Use the included cleaning rake to gently remove hair and buildup from the bristles once a week. For a deeper clean, rinse the bristles — not the acetate handle — under lukewarm water with a small amount of gentle shampoo, then lay the brush bristle-side down on a towel to air dry. Avoid submerging the handle.
Formulas
What's in your formulas — and what isn't?
Our formulas are clean by design. Every formula is free of parabens, sulfates (SLS/SLES), phthalates, mineral oil, and synthetic fragrance. Our serums and oils are also completely silicone-free. We focus on plant-derived actives, marine extracts, and cold-pressed botanical oils. Every formula is developed in Canada in small batches, with full ingredient transparency listed on each product page.
What's the shelf life of your formulas?
Our hair formulas have a 24-month shelf life when stored properly. Mahalo Herbal Tea has a longer shelf life of 36 months thanks to its dried botanical composition. Once opened, we recommend using formulas within 12 months for best performance. You can verify the production date and expiry of any bottle or tin by referencing the lot number on the packaging — if you'd like a precise expiration date, message us via live chat on our Contact page or email team@meeracapsule.com with your lot number and we'll confirm.
Are your formulas tested on animals?
No. Meera Capsule is cruelty-free and vegan. None of our formulas are tested on animals at any stage of development, and none contain animal-derived ingredients. Our suppliers operate under the same standard.
Are your formulas safe for colour-treated, curly, or chemically processed hair?
Yes. All Meera Capsule formulas are sulfate-free and pH-balanced, which makes them safe for colour-treated, curly, coily, keratin-treated, and chemically relaxed hair. Our formulas are designed to support hair health across textures rather than strip or alter your existing colour or treatment.
How should I store my formulas?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Bathrooms with steady temperature and humidity are fine, but avoid leaving bottles on a sunny windowsill or in a hot car for extended periods — heat and UV exposure can degrade natural ingredients faster. Always close the cap fully after use.
Where are your formulas made?
Our hair care formulas are developed and manufactured in Canada in partnership with Toronto-based formulators. We work in small batches with cosmetic chemists who specialize in clean, performance-driven hair care — every formula is certified to Canadian Cosmetic Regulations under the Food and Drugs Act.
Tote Bags
What is the Marée Tote made of?
100% premium French linen, produced near the Belgian border in Northern France in the same historic textile district where the linen is woven. The high-density weave is durable from day one and softens beautifully with age and use.
What colours are available?
The Marée Tote comes in four colourways — Sandbar (a warm, undyed neutral), Clay (an earthy terracotta tone), High Tide (a rich, coastal blue), and Kelp (a deep, organic green).
What size is the tote?
The Marée Tote is 38cm x 42cm, sized for daily essentials and market errands. It features a thick, reinforced strap for comfortable carry and a discreet interior logo for a quietly elevated aesthetic.
How do I care for my Marée Tote?
Spot clean with a damp cloth for minor marks. For a full wash, hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent and lay flat to dry. Avoid tumble drying. Linen naturally softens with use — your tote will develop a beautiful, lived-in drape over time.
Mahalo Tea
What is Mahalo Herbal Tea?
Mahalo is a caffeine-free herbal blend developed in partnership with Certified Nutritional Practitioner Shelby Kroach, founder of Toronto-based Honest Leaf. It combines the grounding earthiness of nettle, the vibrant tartness of hibiscus, the gentle floral notes of chamomile, and a bright citrus finish of lemon. Named after the spirit of gratitude, Mahalo is designed as a daily ceremony — an invitation to pause.
Is it caffeinated?
No. Mahalo is completely caffeine-free, making it perfect for your evening ritual or any time of day.
How do I brew it?
Pour hot water (98°C) over two teaspoons of Mahalo. Let it steep for 5–7 minutes. As the water turns a deep, sunset pink, take three slow breaths and think of one thing you are grateful for today. Sip, smile, and repeat.
